If You’re Working Out, You’ll Have more Fat Burning Molecules
This is probably one of the coolest fitness and exercise studies that I ever read. Researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital Heart Center completed a study to see the chemical changes in the blood and body from exercise… they found some great information that shows why fit and active people don’t get many of the ilnessess that non-exercisers do.
The first thing they discovered where metabolites… these are molecutes that are natural fat burners in the blood. They also break down and burn up fats and sugars, then fight chronic illness such as diabetes and heart disease. They are powerful little guys that help correct metabolic issues.
The study only involved non-regular exercisers, and the workout program used was running on a treadmill for just 10 minutes. Here’s something interestining they found… that these metaboites were involved in the use along with ATP-CP. What is ATP-CP? It’s a natural energy source on your muscles that don’t require oxygen. It helps your muscles ability to move and contract quickly, like during weight training for women.
Since they only looked at running, imagine if they studied running compared to resistance training exercise routines. The body responds so differently to different workouts, so the results might be quite surprising to see after a good weight fat burning workout. Of course muscle resistance training increases lean muscle, but it also increases your metabolism, and you would think that would mean you would get more metabolites out of the workout.
This is really interesting and of course like all things with studies, requires further study to make any real conclusions. But what I really like about it is the fact that the more scientists study exercise, they reveal how amazing it is for the body and for your longevity. How could that not inspire you to workout and take great care of yourself?
